Canada is not No Kill

All CSRBC dogs currently available for adoption are listed below as well as on Petfinder.com. This link will open in a new window. All CSRBC dogs have been seen by our veterinarian, Dr Rana at Apex Animal Hospital.

Our adoption application is available to download from our site. You can fill it out and either mail or fax back to us.

If you are planning to adopt a Puppy Mill survivor from CSRBC or elsewhere, please read the Adopting the PuppyMill Survivor article on the "IL-MO Rescue" site.

You also may want to seriously consider fostering a dog who has lost its home. If so, please
check out our fostering page.

As CSRBC only adopts out dogs to homes in BC and occasionally Washington state, if you are not from these regions, please click on the link below to search for your Cocker Spaniel.

So..you're wanting a purebred puppy...

Are you wanting to purchase a purebred puppy but are worried about paying too much for a poorly bred pup? Here is a questionnaire to take with you when you meet or speak to the breeder. Print this off and before you go to see the puppies, ask the breeder the first question on the list. This will save you time, money and gas.

If you need the names of reputable Cocker Spaniel Breeders in Canada, please contact Carol at 604-716-3647

RUPERT
Rupert
This very well behaved well trained Cocker Spaniel is about 7 1/2 yrs old.
He has no major health problems but has separation anxiety therefore is on a medication for this. We feel that with the right owner, this can be stopped.

Rupert was showing off while I was trying to get a picture of him, rolling over and over and showing off. He has been trained to sit, stay, roll over and will do this to get a treat.

Rupert is quite overweight but is still active and loves to go for walks and fetch the ball.
He will return with it, the owners say.

He has some food allergies, like most cockers, and is on a venison/potato kibble from Dick Van Patten. Most cocker spaniels do much better on grain free foods and he should remain on this type of food. His ears are great, skin and coat look healthy.

He was very good with me, a stranger and has a very soft mouth, taking treats from a small child. He is a great traveler and good with kids.
Rupert is a good dog!
Cats, not so good and as spaniels are bird dogs, isn't good with birds, will chase and would fly after them if he could fly. Rupert barks and gets very excited at door bells and growls around other dogs when on leash, but not aggressive.

Best home for Rupert is one where someone if home a lot.
We will not consider applicants who are gone throughout the day, at work.

All interested parties must fill out an application, found above.
There is no adoption fee, however we do ask both owner and adopter to donate, amount of their choice, to CSRBC.

We are in urgent need of cash donations to help us with the vet costs of our rescue dogs. Foster homes are also needed as we have had to turn away dogs because of lack of space. For our US donors, please feel free to click the Paypal button to donate. for Canadian Donors, please use the Canada Helps button above, you will receive an instant tax receipt.
