This page will discuss ways in which you can help us...and then we move on to how we can help you. How can we help you keep your pet? Would you like a good site on training assistance or do you have questions on your dog's health? Read on!

Not everyone wants to get involved in the same way. On this page we present different options to encourage others to get involved in the cause of Cocker Spaniel Rescue. Here's how you can help:

Volunteer Your Time

Teddy Contact us to find out how you can help with rescue.
We need experienced or willing people to do homechecks and reference checks, especially outside of the Lower Mainland. Sometimes this involves a local phone call, or going to visit the prospective new owners to do yard checks, etc.

Make a Donation

Since we are now a registered Non-Profit Charity in British Columbia, we are able to issue tax receipts. Also, donations of food, and new or gently used doggy items are well received.

You could also commit to saving the money from pop cans and bottles. Encourage your dog-loving friends and relatives to do the same.

To make a monetary donation, you can send a cheque to CSRBC at our address here.

For our donors, please click on the CanadaHelps button above. Canadians have the ability to print off their tax receipt instantly

Visit our Resources Page to meet our other friends and supporters!

Can We Help You keep your Pet?

If you are considering giving up your pet, please read the Can We Help You Keep Your Pet? article on the wonderpuppy.net site prior to contacting us. These links will open in a new window.

Before you make the final decision to give up your cocker, especially if you don't intend to contact us first, please watch this video. It may help you to make up your mind.

Assistance Program Policies

If you require financial assistance for necessary medical treatment for your Cocker Spaniel, we may be able to assist you. We cannot usually fund 100% but, upon approval, will help as much as we can.

  1. All applications must be assessed by Carol.
  2. An estimate of amount must be faxed to CSRBC from the vet on the Veterinary Clinic letterhead.
  3. CSRBC will determine what, if any, financial assistance will be given.
  4. The dog must be in the vet clinic prior to CSRBC paying all or part of the fee for the service.
  5. CSRBC will discuss payment with the vet office to ensure that we are not paying for any overdue bills but we are paying only for the service agreed upon.

Please contact us for further information.

Health Information

Many health issues should be considered when you are adopting or fostering any animal. The Dog Owner's Guide provides a good reference list of links containing information on various health problems or issues facing animals, particularly canines and American Cocker Spaniels.

Here is another great link to read up on Cocker Spaniel Health Issues.

Advice

Frequently we receive calls seeking advice on topics ranging from how to care for a cocker, types of diets, to living with dogs with behavioural problems.

  • For a wonderful general site for Cockers click here for all sorts of information.

Don't Delay - Neuter or Spay!
  • We are in urgent need of cash donations to help us with the vet costs of our rescue dogs. Foster homes are also needed as we have had to turn away dogs because of lack of space. Please go to our Apply to Foster page
    for details.
