This page is dedicated to our rescues who have blessed us with their sweet presence, and their constant kisses.

Each one has touched our hearts in different ways. They have gone on to the Rainbow Bridge to become healthy again.

Just this side of Heaven, is a place called Rainbow Bridge...

Rainbow Bridge Gates

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, we believe that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and they are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; one who was left behind.

Then comes the day when one suddenly stops and focusses in the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the rest, flying over the green grass, legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.....

And then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together....

The other side of the coin, of course, is that we are left here, missing our small friends. We will never forget them, and look forward as much as they do to the day when we get to take a walk together once again.

Honey

Honey Honey started to win hearts the moment I picked her up from her 'breeder' in a parking lot. She was a wreck but soon became the loving dog that she was meant to be. Honey almost stayed with us but I knew that Claudia and Dave were meant to be here parents. She turned 11 in November 08. She died in the loving arms of Claudia and David on December 4/08
This is from them:

"She was a magnificent animal who delighted us at every turn. Her sweet, determined demeanor was a source of tremendous joy. Her truly unique personality won her many ardent admirers wherever she traveled. She will remain forever in our hearts."

Gypsy AKA Misty

Gypsy loved Steve Irwin

Gypsy, aka Misty, came to us from Arizona via Washington State. Her owner was being transfered to Europe. Misty loved everyone. Especially her buddies on TV, Steve Irwin and Shrek. She was the only dog who was adopted out with her own VHS movies of Shrek and 2 hours of Animal Planet. She was renamed Gypsy due to her traveling lifestyle and eventually became the beloved pet of Hazel and David In Victoria.

She was a large part of their lives and took a big portion of their hearts when she left them.

We can only hope she is watching Steve Irwin up there and waiting for beloved Hazel and David. She is also very much missed by CSRBC's Carol and husband.

Gypsy was 13 years old.

Run free, Gyp.

Lucy Licorice

Lucy near the Rainbow Bridge

Lucy Licorice must have had a hard life until she met John and Jamie.

She came to CSRBC in Feb 2005 from the Richmond SPCA as she was turned in by her owner. This is from her adopters....something that her original owner never experienced or he would not have given her up.

"We loved her greatly and she loved us right back. She had a special sense about her that we have never seen in any other dog. A sense we can only describe as "soulful".

She was around 10 yrs old. CSRBC is very sad at her loss especially as she was fostered by Carol and family.

Alex

Sonny

Sonny came from somewhere that caused him to be a biter but he was such a sweet dog.

CSRBC did all we could to rehabilitate him from special training from Dana to an assessment by Roger Mugford. He still was a biter. We found a special home for him in Phoenix AZ with other cockers who HAD the same problem but were now loving dogs. We knew that Sonny could be that way too.Off he flew one spring day to Arizona and there he stayed for 3 1/2 years. Sonny DID become a loving dog. Sonny didn't bite again.

On Jan 22, Sonny became very sick and much to the heartbreak of his family, he had to be put to sleep. His passing has saddened all of us. We think Sonny was 9 yrs old.

He leaves behind, Pattie, Don, Sadie, Winston, Punkie, Daisy Mae, Abby, Boomer, and Cissy. His Canadian family include Dana and Dave, Carolyn, and all of us here at CSRBC.
